Hoyt Maulden joined the church four years ago after a 35-year
search for a peace church. He was raised in a Navy family but now calls
himself a
"Matthew-Fiver." Hoyt enjoys sharing his story with youth and
adults,
especially the struggles Menno-Americans have trying to be faithful to
the
Sermon on the Mount in today's world. Hoyt has been a journalist and
writer, presently works at the State Department in Washington, D.C. and
attends Northern Virginia Mennonite Church in Fairfax, VA.

Grant Rissler is Peace & Justice Coordinator
for MCC's East Coast region. In his position he carries out peace education
and helps to nurture and resource the network of MCC constituents seeking
to be faithful disciples of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Before joining MCC,
Grant served as Communications Director for The Faith & Politics Institute
in Washington, DC. He holds an M.A. in International Relations from Johns
Hopkins University as well as a B.A. in history from Goshen (Ind.) College.
In addition to spending 4 years of his childhood in Somalia and Kenya
while his parents served with Eastern Mennonite Missions, Grant has spent
time in Italy, Peru, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. After college
he spent two and half years in Mennonite Voluntary Service in New York
City (at the MCC UN Office) and South Texas (as an immigration paralegal).
He is a member of Big Spring Mennonite in Virginia Mennonite Conference.
He currently lives in Washington, DC and attends Community House Church
while spending significant time at MCC's Akron office.
