Highlights:
• Get to know the value of Virginia Mennonite involvement in Colombian missions! Aaron and Laura Kauffman have been serving in La Mesa, Colombia since September 2005. In La Mesa, which is a small town near the capital city of Bogotá, Aaron teaches English and Laura works with health promotion. Aaron, Laura, Abby, and Anna Sophia strive to share Christ's transforming love in everything they do. We are blessed to have Aaron and Laura, fresh from long-term Colombian ministry, to guide our reflections throughout the weekend.
• Participate in a service project.
• Available during outdoor/gym free time: swimming pool, the Persecution game, learn to play Kubb, a lawn game which may date back to the Viking age, which is best described as a combination of bowling, horseshoes, and chess.
• Hear Katie Grove live! A songwriter and lead vocalist, she formed the Katie Grove Band which has been performing since 2001. Katie Grove will bring a folk-rock vibe to the Saturday Coffee House performance.
• Get to know youth from across Virginia Mennonite Conference.
Items You Will Need:
Bible

Swimsuit (girls: one piece or full-coverage tankini)
Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.)
Clothes for three days and three nights*
*As you pack your clothes, keep modesty in mind. Muscle shirts, spaghetti straps and very short shorts are not appropriate attire for Youth Assembly. Dress with respect for yourself and others.
