Interim Conference Youth Minister

Meet Sarah Bixler

 

I am delighted to serve you as your Interim Conference Youth Minister!
My term runs from September 2006 - August 2007, during which time the
conference will be evaluating the Conference Youth Minister role and
envisioning its future.

At age 15, I experienced a distinct call to work with youth in a faith context.
Since then I have pursued educational training and ministry opportunities to
follow that call. Now in my sixth year as Zion Mennonite Church's youth
minister, I enjoy working with youth in grades 6-12 within the congregational
context. For the previous four years I taught sixth grade Bible, English and
social studies at Eastern Mennonite Middle School, where I continue
teaching in seventh grade math.

My husband, Ben, and I originally come from southeastern Pennsylvania but
have settled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. We were blessed with the
birth of our first child, Calvin, on August 3. I am thankful for a husband who
supports my ministry and the continuing growth of our marriage and family.

I hope to get to know each of you better through email, phone conversations
